On June 23rd Mr. Ward celebrated his 30th Birthday! Last year he set a goal to reach 30 countries by his 30th birthday. Sometime after his 29th birthday, he realized he was at 19 countries. Reaching an additional 11 countries in 1 year didn’t seem impossible so we set out to make his goal a reality and added it to our bucketlist.
About halfway through we thought he wasn’t going to make it due to interrupted travel plans (who could have foreseen snow storms in winter? LOL). So at the last minute, we decided to spend the last month in South America visiting 4 countries. And guess what HE MADE IT! And actually passed it. This is a major accomplishment for someone who never had the privilege to travel as a child and only obtained his passport 7 years ago. Here’s the list of all the countries he’s been to. The countries are not in any particular order.

After we finished galavanting through South America we came back to Orlando to celebrate Mr. Ward’s Birthday properly. I threw him a surprise birthday party that all his friends and family had a hand in. I think he truly enjoyed his day.
His friends and family helped me surprise him with this video. The original goal of this video was to get 30 people to say something nice about Mr. Ward for his 30th birthday. Since he is nothing but amazing many more people came forward. The video is in order from who he met first.

Now that he’s crossed one travel goal off of his list. What should be next? Give him some suggestions in the comments.

Wow! What a birthday if sure was!
That’s so amazing! My husband and I want to travel more now that our boys are a little bit older. They want to travel with us too and we’re making up our list already! 🙂
So much fun to travel as a family. I’m sure the boys will love it
Rome and the Vatican, not that far away right? Love your 30 by 30 and hope you had a great b’day x
The Vatican is actually located inside of Rome
I know, I’m from Rome. It was a joke 😉
Lol hey you never know 😂
I’ve seen 30 by 30 challenges, but this one is CRAZY AWESOME!!
Thanks Rachel

Yay! Congratulations and Happy Birthday to your husband. Sometimes in life is better to set lower goals so that you can achieve them. I don’t think I’d like to travel just for the sake of achieving a goal. I want to enjoy my travels and I don’t care how many countries I visit as long as I travel for the good reasons.
That’s so true. And this was the first one we’ve ever done but the challenge of completing it was cool
A fantastic goal – and even more important, he looks like he’s enjoying all that travel! Glad it worked out for him despite the travel interruptions! #theweeklypostcard
It’s funny because when we first met he hated traveling and look at him now lol Thanks for stopping by
That is impressive! I loved seeing all the pictures. It was so nice of you to put together the surprise party and video! So for the next challenge maybe go to a certain number of new places each year. Thanks for sharing on #TheWeeklyPostcard.
Yes he was really surprised and truly enjoyed his self. Going a certain number of places per year would be a good goal to set. Thanks for stopping by
