I suppose you have visited this page because you want to know more about me. To be honest, I don’t know what to tell you but I will try. LOL
If you’ve been here before Welcome back!
My name is Victoria. A lot of my friends call me Qween Vic or QV for short. From 2016-2022, this site was called MeetTheWards.com. As you can see the name has changed to my nickname. Previously, I was married to someone named Alejandro, who is often referred to as Mr. Ward throughout this site. We had a nasty divorce at the end of 2020 buttt I am honestly too lazy to go back and delete him from the site so if you see previous references to him you can go ahead and ignore them ๐๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ
Anyway back to meeeeโฆ I am an adventurous, curious, open-minded Thirty Twenty-Nine plus plus something-year-old Black American girl who has had the pleasure to call a lot of different places home. I like to say I’m young enough to still enjoy the wonders of travel, old enough to afford to do it the right way, and privileged enough to go just about anywhere I want.
After being unfulfilled in America, I gave up my career, sold all my stuff, and became a trespasser (literally) in foreign lands. Luckily, things usually worked out in my favor. I started off living abroad in Thailand and then a year later moved to Kuwait. After a year in Kuwait, I spent 3 years in Egypt, and then a short stint in Mauritania. I am currently finding my way in the Dominican Republic. Giving up “The American Dream” couldn’t have worked out better for me. And I bet it could work out for you too!
I originally started this blog because I have a terrible memory. I would go on an amazing trip and a month later I could barely recall any details. As you can imagine pictures and videos mean more to me than just about anything I own. No pictures = no memories so I make sure I take them. Truly, I just wanted to write down my memories before they left my brain. But apparently, other people (including you) have an interest in those memories as well. Now I take proper notes, give advice and share them with the world, although admittedly a bit slow.
If you are into travel, living abroad, and hearing stories about the dumb funny chaotic things that always seem to happen to me, follow me as I discover the beautiful world around us. I promise you won’t regret it.
